Hi Tom, Thanks for the input. This board provides wonderful support, comments, and experiences.

My incision was made on the lower part of the breast bone and is 5" long. I asked Dr. McCarthy about the rib procedure at OSU (OSU was my second choice for locations) and he indicated he preferred the center of the chest opening. He also indicated he would do mini if possible. I have to honestly say that "right now" I would like to be in NSR and have a full incision. I am sure I would feel differently if I were in NSR now.

My blood clot is rather large (at first about the size of a small chicken egg). It's still rather large, but shrinking. I have had two ultrasounds and they both indicate that it is a deposit in the groin. It is classically called a hematoma and normally they are composed of blood. They can operate or needle extract the stuff to verify, but both Dr's. suggested that I let nature take its course.

Tom, Thanks again for your comments. I wish you NSR forever.
