When I had my open chest maze at OSU 9 weeks ago I spoke with Dr. Brown about the minimal procedure and he indicated that he no longer performs it based on experience there. However there are several postings on this board from folks who had a minimal procedure at CC and had good results. So the answer is that they don't all do it the same way and the success of a specific maze procedure approach probably varies based on where it is done. So ask your surgeon for his specific outcome data for the specific procedure technique that you favor.
