Tony, I continue to post my progress so that future mazers can get a cross-section of the healing time involved. Some of the figures I had prior to the surgery were: 60-70% of patients come out of surgery in NSR. And, 30-40% of patients have to wait a longer time (approx. 3 months) to heal. I also had a mini-maze and some of the folks on this board indicate that mini mazers take longer to heal. I asked Dr. McCarthy about that fact and he indicated that it was not true. The reason I asked the question is because if the answer was yes, I was going to request a full incision. Dr. McCarthy said that I was a candidate for the mini and that's what I got.
