Tony, I was at CC the same time as Carl but Dr. McCarthy did the mini maze on me as I am pretty lean. Both Carl and I had the same results, I think, and although the method was slightly different, it worked for both of us. As Carl suggests, just ask questions. I found Dr. McCarthy to be pretty accessible and he answered everything that I asked. I was contacted by CC at six months to find out how I was doing (no problems). Now, I am at 10 months and I take no drugs and things couldn't be better. My surgery was exactly as Dr. McCarthy suggested that it might be. There is always a risk but the risk of AFib is perhaps greater and life without AFib is very wonderful.
