Sorry to be so long in responding. Yes, it was a tempurpedic, but my guess is that anything that helps spread the weight over a wider area would help. We used to have a water bed that gave similar support. My wife made us give it up. perhaps those fancy adjustable air mattresses would work as well. It wasn't perfect, but took signicant pressure off of tender areas post op.
