Mike: I think you were right to try an ablation first if Aflutter ocurred more often than Afib and if the ablated area was easy to reach. I tried an ablation and it kept me out of Afib for several weeks and really helped the upper limits of my HR when Afib unfortunately returned.
It would sure be nice if ablations became low risk and as successful as the maze. Please provide more details and keep the board informed on your progress.
I concur that it sure is nice to be Afib and drug-free after 8 years. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
