Henry: I think Ed is exactly right. I had a brief episode of Aflutter about 8-10 weeks post maze, caused by (I believe) taking Zithromax for a sinus infection. I had to be cardioverted and have never had a problem since. I believe my heart was on the threshold of being healed and the antibiotic kicked me into flutter.
You are probably right about not expecting much of a p-wave because of what your heart has been through, but a call to Dr. Hammer's office by your doctor or even better, yourself, will probably set your mind at ease. I believe you will find that Dr. Hammer will call you back himself, as I experienced with him, unless he is not working today. If he does, you might ask him to communicate with your doctor as well.
