Are the Results of the MAZE Procedure Long Lasting?

I luckily found your message board as I am joining the ranks of those needing the MAZE procedure. Having chronic AF for the past two years, I have been through varies drugs and several ablation procedures. Needless to say none have been successful. Being slightly less than 60 and in excellent health otherwise, my physician has recommended that I seriously explore the possiblity of undergoing the MAZE procedure. After reading some articles and your website, I am curious if anyone has any information on (1)the length the time the procedure continues to keep recipients in rhythm (has there been any 10 year followup studies?) and (2) does the procedure give rise to other problems in the future. Thanks for the help!!
