Jackie, I would like to add my reassurance to that of the others who have responded to your question re: cath. I had my maze by Dr. McCarthy on 8/8/00, and am now med-free and in NSR...I had my one and only cath as part of the pre-op processing for the maze...to determine blockages. As Henry stated, the thought of the procedure is far more daunting than going through it ==and he is only a few weeks (if that!) out. The few days of discomfort and nerves quickly become a fleeting memory...good luck to you both, I hope all of this frustration will be behind you soon!
