This is not an oversight. Heart catherizations are not needed in the treatment of AFIB.
I never had a heart cath. until I was going to have open heart surgery. I had one artery 30% blocked which required no by-pass. However, if I had an artery with 90% blockage the surgeon would be able to perform a by-pass at the same time they do the MAZE procedure.
