I believe it to be true that the time it takes for the mechanical function to return is indeed an individual matter. But several "old timers", me included, have witnessed that it sort of comes back in intervals. For me, the two year mark (past op.) was one milestone. Today, towards the three year mark (in February next year), things are almost back to normal. Then again, the overall feeling of well being was restored almost immediately after the op. So, what you regard as "normal" also depends on what perspective you choose. For me "normal" is linked to heavy physical activity, but this is of course not necessary the viewpoint.
More importantly, definately, is that the possibility to restore health is great with the Maze.
