Sorry to hear that you were at least temporarily rejected for the maze. Hopefully they can get your heart muscle strengthened enough to procede in a few months.
Has the amiodarone affected your pulmonary function? When I had to stop it in November because of it's adverse effects (and to prepare for the maze 2 wks ago), it had begun to make me wheeze quite a bit, which was disturbing.
Keep your hopes up! The maze does appear to have worked for me. No AF for
12 days, my EP reduced my Rythmol to 75mg/3 x/day, am still on coumadin, and am off for a 2 mile walk at a good pace.
