Anders,

I am encouraged by your post. I am 46 and have been running long distance since I was a teenager. I enjoy running ultra-marathons of 100k to 100 miles. I have had chronic atril fib for the past 6 years which has really hurt my ability to run and the enjoyment that I get from it. I went the drug route for a while with nothing able to keep me in NSR for longer than 6 weeks. It was my experience that the side effects from the drugs were worst than the AF. After discovering that the Maze procedure existed and considering the effect AF has had on the quality of my life over the past 6 years I had no problem electing to have the procedure done. It's been 3 weeks since I had the procedure and have experienced no AF. I'm walking 2 to 6 miles a day and keeping my fingers crossed that in 3 months I'll be off the drugs and the AF will be gone. I'm really looking forward to getting back to running.

Best Regards,
Cyle
